Getting to Know Us
Coweta Charter Academy (CCA) is located west of Senoia, Georgia on Highway 16. This setting is rural and quite quaint. The school presently serves a population of 180 students in Kindergarten through third grades. Next year, CCA is hoping to grow in size and educate students through the seventh grade. The parents of Coweta Charter Academy choose this educational setting for their children because of the rigorous curriculum and high academic standards for all students. The staff, parents, and community understand that CCA is about the students and high student achievement. There is a strong dedication among the leadership, staff, parents and community to support this view.
Coweta Charter Academy has many opportunities for parents and the community to be involved in the school. Parents are required to complete 20 volunteer hours per school year. Volunteer opportunities include greeting visitors, assisting in the cafeteria, helping with a variety of school projects, attending school meetings, and student conferences. The school has an active Parents and Teachers for Students Organization (PATS) that meets monthly and helps the school with events and activities, as well as raises money to support the school.
The students at Coweta Charter Academy enjoy a variety of activities that promote academic, social, and character growth. Through the character education program, STRIVE 65, the students are involved in community outreach projects that develop personal qualities as responsibility, sharing, diversity, respect, and leadership. The students also practice these qualities everyday in their classrooms and school activities, including clubs for Recycling, Math, Good News, and Green Thumb. Whenever possible, Coweta Charter Academy promotes community involvement in these activities so students can understand the connection between school, learning, and careers in life.
